A Rotten Person Travels the Caribbean is an insanely funny travel book. If you read it and aren’t incontinent with laughter, then there’s something wrong with you. It’s by the Rotten Person, Gary Buslik. We’re friends now but he probably won’t admit it because he’s rotten. Gary was one of the judges for the Leap Local travel story competition.

I’ve enjoyed Tahir Shah’s books for years (he’s written a dozen and is working on his next). I was lucky to get to spend an hour on the phone talking to this very interesting, passionate, fast paced man about travel writing because of the Leap Local travel story competition. People I travel with aren’t so enamoured with Tahir Shah because I no longer have my laundry done when abroad and it’s entirely Tahir’s fault due to his book Trail of Feathers.

Peter Moore is a popular and prolific Australian travel author. He had me crying with laughter on the very first page of his book Vroom with a View and I can’t get his image of Tai Bo for the elderly out of my head. Just sitting here typing this, I’m crying with laughter again.

Orientpurrr is where I purchased my beautiful cat, Dim Sum. Dim Sum is an oriental, shorthair, ebony ticked tabby. So if you love cats and especially exotic pedigrees, do check out Linda's show winners.
