Kirsten was frustrated trying to arrange a mountain biking trip in Turkmenistan. The government there requires that you have a government sanctioned guide – but it seems those guides don’t want to ride bikes – so she decided on whim to go pedal around Jordan instead.

Kirsten found a Jordanian adventure tour operator, www.terhaal.com, and emailed Rakan at Terhaal, as she didn’t see any tours for over the X-Mas holidays. Rakan said that was because Terhaal was running a trip for a company in the UK, but he said she could join them. So she did.

(I absolutely loved Jordan. I’ll be adding more to this page soon, but I’ve been insanely busy preparing for the launch of Leap Local’s new travel magazine!)
